Q: Does a Lien get removed when filing for Homestead protection?
A: The lien does not actually ‘go away’ nor does it get 'removed' from the court/public record, but instead, the lien becomes unenforceable against your home's equity (and possibly your wages and income if you are considered a Head of Family).
