I currently home a home in Florida that I reside in. I also co-own a home with my brother that I am on the deed and mortgage. For tax purposes I claim the interest and property tax on my returns. Can my brother apply for a Homestead exemption on this property even though I am a co owner and still plan on claiming the house on my taxes. My brother does reside in this home. Thanks.

Yes. Income tax and property tax are two seperate issues. As long as he has legal or equitable title, he is entitled to the homestead tax exemption as long as he actually lives there and it is his primary and sole residence.
