I have been living at my house for 15 yrs. The last couple of years I started to rent my home when I am gone. Put my short term rental on a web site. Someone reported or they found it then saw I claim homestead. Asked me for to prove I have indeed lived there. Problem is EVERYTHING even Fed Taxes and Drivers license etc etc has the UPS address not my home.
All my things are at my house, rent it from 3 night to 2 month at a time but am here 6-7 months a year.
Other than notarized affidavits from myself and some friends and neighbors can anybody think of anything else to prove I lived here?
Also they hardly gave me a chance....after I turned in 10 yrs of tax returns, was ready to turn in more things they said sorry...we are putting a lien on your house for the last 3 yrs since we see you have rented during that time.
So don't know if there is an appeal or what but am getting ready for one. I know I should (and very well may) change my address to my home address but I am female, live alone, Private Investigator(out of work)..and like the privacy. But I guess no more, right?
So should affidavits be enough?
