HI,

I'm a full time college student, 19 years old, I'm buying a house in Florida this month and makeing this my perm. residence. My college is in New England and I'll be away from home up to 8 months/year for the next 5-8 years.
Does anyone know if this effect my residency as applied to the Homestead Exemption?

Thanks you sincerely, ROb

Rob,

You can mantain your homestead in Florida, no problem. Extended travel is not a reason to deny or lose homestead status.
