EXPANDED HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION PASSES HOUSE
THIS AFTERNOON, HJR 7105 PASSED THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES BY A VOTE OF 83-35.
HJR 7105 proposes an amendment to the FL Constitution to create an additional $25,000 exemption for homestead properties assessed value between $100,000 - $125,000 for non-school (city, county and special district) property taxes.
The proposed constitutional amendment will be placed on the 2018 General Election Ballot and will require 60% voter approval.
