The Broward League of Cities will host two town hall forums on the proposed property tax amendment that will be on the Jan. 29 ballot.
The league, along with Hallandale Beach and Coral Springs, has invited a panel to discuss the legal overview of the proposal, how property tax amounts are determined and how people will be affected if the proposal is approved at the polls.
The panel will include representatives from the Broward County Property Appraiser's Office, the Broward school district, Broward County Police Chiefs Association, Broward County Council of Professional Firefighters and the Realtors Association of Greater Fort Lauderdale.
One forum will be at 7 p.m. Jan. 7 at Hallandale High School, 720 NW Ninth Ave., Hallandale Beach. The other will be at 7 p.m. Jan. 9 at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts, 2855 Coral Springs Dr., Coral Springs.
